Hello, my name is Joey Gomez...

I’m a professional graphic designer and art director with strengths in print and digital design. I’ve been in the design industry for about 20 years, mostly in advertising, marketing, and communications. I’ve worked for major companies, such as Universal Orlando Resort, Scholastic Book Fairs, and Lockheed Martin. Staying current in design and learning new skills have always been important to me. Recently, I’ve decided to return to school and learn web, video, and UX/UI design at Valencia College. I’m currently working towards an AS degree in Interactive Design.

One Interesting Fact About Me is...

In 2012, I took a gap year and moved to Europe for a year. I lived in Prague, Czech Republic, where I received my Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) teacher certificate. While living in Prague, I taught English to locals and business students. I was also able to keep my graphic design skills current by freelancing with local businesses. While in Europe, I did a good amount of traveling while experiencing many different cultures. It was such an amazing life experience! I would recommend teaching abroad to anyone who might be thinking about it. The TEFL language program I did was with The Language House, Prague. I highly recommend them... They are amazing!
