Bill Frederick Park covers 183 acres of land alongside Turkey Lake, one of the top-five rated fishing lakes in the state of Florida. The park is designed for nature lovers and provides families, organizations and community groups with several recreational activities and scenic views.
The children's farm features a variety of animals to interact with, including horses, pigs, chickens, goats, and cats.
The Nature trail is a 2.4-mile path, perfect for hiking and taking in the scenery. Plant markers have been placed throughout the trail so you can learn about them throughout your journey. The path has curves and elevation gains and drops, undulating up and down sand dunes with gopher tortoise burrows. The path will also take you to the Turkey Lake shoreline and by the pier.
Our 330' long fishing pier has fish feeders to attract fish as well as lights and a fish cleaning station.
Come play! Our playground features 6 slides, 2 climbing walls, a bridge, a swingset, and monkey bars. Surrounded by soft bark chips to make running and jumping a breeze.
Fishermen can rent a BASS TRACKER boat at the City of Orlando’s Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake, for just $32 boat/day! The boats are equipped with live wells, trolling motors, anchors, depth finders, and park radios. Due to deed restrictions, these loaner boats are the only way the public can legally fish Turkey Lake from a watercraft. The City’s boat concession area also has some loaner fishing poles equipped with a limited selection of bait and tackle.
Swimming is NOT allowed in the lake.
The pool is open June - October on Saturdays and Sundays. Enjoy open swim with a view of Turkey Lake. The pool features a depth range of 4' - 10'. Showers and locker rooms are available next to the pool.
Our extensive campground site offers options for RV campers, cabin campers, and primitive tent camping. Our 36 RV sites are concrete with options of full hookups or just water and electricity. Power hookups are available in 30 amp and 50 amp. Amenities include picnic tables, onsite showers and restrooms with plumbing, a laundry house with 4 washers and 4 dryers, and a change machine.
5 cabins are available for overnight rental. Each cabin has 5 bunk beds, and includes an Air conditioning unit. The cabins lie at the southern edge of the park and share a bath house with the primitive camping area.
Campfires are not allowed in the park.
Disc golf is a great way to have a fun day outdoors with friends and family. We offer 3-18 hole disc golf courses, 54 holes total, that span throughout the entire park. One course for every skill level! The newest course (called the T-2 Course), was designed by professional disc golfer Greg Hosfield. It wanders under large oak trees, over gently rolling hills of green grass, and then hugs the shores of Turkey Lake at the last few holes. First timers to disc golf should start at the Original Course. The holes here are slightly shorter and there are less obstacles like doglegs and trees to disrupt your shots.
Our paved 2-mile bike trail winds through most of the park, including long stretches along the beautiful shoreline where you may spot a variety of birds along with other wildlife. Since the path has only a few gentle slopes, it's an easy ride for all ages and abilities.
